Miami Beach: The Art Deco Capital
Home to the largest concentration of tropical Art Deco architecture, Miami Beach is where the Art Deco preservation movement began.
Founded in 1976 by Barbara Baer Capitman and a group of preservationists, the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) is the oldest Art Deco Society in the world. Its efforts sparked a global movement, leading to the formation of Art Deco Societies across the world.
